2014 Event Schedule

Friday, June 13th - Begin your weekend with the K-177 BlueGrass Jam Session
on Broadway, at 7:30 PM.
Bring lawnchairs for outdoor seating. Last year, we were able to hold the evening Jam Session on the lawn of the CourtHouse - it was memorable!

Saturday, June 14th, Festival Hours: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM;
At 10:00 AM, join Derrick Doty under the shade trees for the 2nd annual Roy McClure Memorial Banjo Workshop.
At 1:30 PM, gather for the annual Gary Hughes Memorial Fiddle Workshop.
At 4:00 PM, Dance Master Derrick Dooty will conduct a free Contra Dance Workshop in preparation for the evening Contra Dance.

And at 7:30 PM, join us all for the second annual ContraDanze on the Green, featuring Live Music and Derrick Doty as DanceMaster. Bring lawnchairs for seating.

Sunday, June 15th, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the Festival continues
on the lawn of the historic Chase County CourtHouse, Cottonwood Falls.

Historical Presenters in period dress demonstrate the skills necessary for pioneers to live and work in the mid-1800s. Items produced at the festival will be for sale

Historic Presenters in previous years have included, SoapMaking, BasketMaking, Native American BasketWeaving, LeatherWorking, TreenWare, a BlackSmith, StoryTelling, QuiltMaking, Homemade RootBeer, StoneMasonry, RopeMaking, BroomMaking, KettleCorn, PotteryMaking, Weaving, Calligraphy, Abraham Lincoln, Buffalo Hunters encampment, a Banjo Workshop, a Fiddle WorkShop, and Live Music.
