Saturday, June 12, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, June
13th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on the lawn of the historic Chase
County CourtHouse.
Historical Presenters in period dress demonstrate skills necessary
for pioneers to live and work in the mid-1800s. Items produced
at the festival will be for sale.
Historic Presenters at the Festival in 2009 included BasketMaking,
SoapMaking, HandCarving, Quilting, Gourd Banjos, Children's Crafts,
BroomMaking, KettleCorn, HomeMade RootBeer, RopeMaking, PotteryMaking,
Weaving, a Rendezvous Camp, Live Music and a visit from Abraham
Lincoln.
The K-177 BlueGrass Pickers will meet on Friday night, June 11th
to kick off the Festival weekend, and the TallGrass Pickers (and
friends) will jam at 7:30 on Saturday evening, June 12th. Plan
to join us to listen or to participate, (bring your instrument).
Bring lawn chairs for seating.
There is no admission charge to the grounds, but an opportunity
for contribution will be available.
